When you shop for gloves online, the cut names can confuse anyone. Negative, Rollfinger, Flat, N-Roll, Hybrid. Each one answers a specific need and has its ideal goalkeeper profile. This guide walks you through the six main cuts in the market plus the two proprietary Elite Sport cuts, with model recommendations for each.

Flat cut

The original cut. The latex palm is sewn with external gussets between the fingers. Result: glove with natural slack, visible stitching, more relaxed fit.

For who. Goalkeepers who like to feel the glove loose, beginners and goalkeepers who value durability over sensitivity. Also goalkeepers with long fingers who feel cramped in tighter cuts.

Elite Sport models. U1 and R1, both in the Flex Pro family with Super Control 3.5 mm palm. Access to the Flat cut without sacrificing latex quality.

Negative cut

The stitching is sewn inward, not outward. That reduces the gap between hand and latex and delivers the snuggest fit on the market.

For who. Professional and semi-pro goalkeepers. Most European and American football goalkeepers wear Negative. If your priority is maximum sensitivity and maximum control, this is your cut.

Elite Sport models. T1 (Ultra G Tech 4 mm palm, top of the line), Supreme N, Supreme M Aqua, B1, Combat. If you want a Negative oriented for moisture, the Supreme M Aqua is the safe bet.

Rollfinger cut

The latex wraps fully around each finger, with no visible seam on the contour. Contact area with the ball is maximized and protection is greater.

For who. Goalkeepers who punch a lot, goalkeepers with thin hands who need volume to fill the glove, traditional goalkeepers raised on this cut. Loses some sensitivity compared to Negative but gains useful surface area.

N-Roll and N-Roll 2.0 cut

Modern hybrid. The top part of the finger is built like Rollfinger while the bottom stays flat to avoid the uncomfortable seam of traditional Roll. Combines protection with comfort.

For who. Goalkeepers who want Rollfinger surface without the classic stiffness. Very popular in LATAM, especially Mexico, Colombia and Argentina.

Elite Sport models. Solo Black, Orca, Vibora, Camaleon, Arctik, New Aztlan. The 2.0 version, exclusive to Supreme M NR, perfects the cut by removing the bottom seam.

Hybrid cut

Hybrid is a broad term. It means the glove combines two cuts in one. The most common combination is Roll on the outer fingers (index and pinky) and Negative on the inner ones (middle and ring).

For who. Goalkeepers who want the best of both worlds. Protection and surface on the outer fingers, sensitivity and control on the inner ones. Great balance for a competitive goalkeeper who has not yet decided their 100 percent preference.

For who. Goalkeepers who have tried Negative and want to take the feel one step further. Goalkeepers looking for real technical differentiation, not marketing.
